An Occlusal Adjustment, also referred to as Equilibration, is a procedure that aims to remove the interferences that keep teeth from fitting together properly. The interferences need to be removed because they are preventing the jaw from resting in its anatomically correct position.
After the adjustment is made, you will receive a removable mouthpiece, which will protect the tooth surface and relax your jaw muscles.
Do you experience the following?
- Loose or shifting teeth that don't meet correctly
- Grinding or clenching of the teeth that cause an uneven bite and pressure distribution
- Extreme sensitivity from pressure
Using a computer scan, Dr. Rosala will be able to note even a small irregularity and make only necessary adjustments. The adjustments will fix the issue before it progresses and minimize tooth wear.
